ORSULA d.o.o. (CROATIA) is a Croatian private limited liability company founded in 2002 to act as a developer for the Croatian company Belvedere d.d. in Dubrovnik, one of the Croatian’s leading companies in hospitality industry in Croatia. It is still involved in the prime Dubrovnik site development.

More than ten years ago the company started organizing a private “raw” art collection of a leading art collector. Today, Orsula d.o.o. is one of major consultants in Europe led by the motto “How to Move from Raw Collections to Digital Asset”.

Orsula’s expertise:

1. Application of standards

Standard Object ID is an internationally recognized standard designed to document and identify cultural heritage. It is used for the purpose of describing cultural objects and facilitates the identification of archaeological collections, cultural and artistic objects in case of loss or theft. Object ID establishes a standardized procedure to document and describe such facilities. Object ID has been developed by John Paul Getty Research Institute.

Standard Spectrum is a standard developed for collection management and is internationally accepted. Spectrum gives tried-and-tested advice on the things most museums do when managing their collections. Spectrum calls all these activities procedures and there are 21 of them. Spectrum standard was created by the Collections Trust.

2. Software application

Axiell Collections is a collection management system software application for recording and management of museums, archives and libraries. Axiell Collections is in compliance with Object ID Standard and Spectrum Standard.

3. Equipment application

Orsula d.o.o. has experience in digitization using the finest equipment in order to achieve the best results when creating digital asset, such as: CultArm3D DT10 Mobile 3D Digitization System, Epson Scanners, SMA Scanners, Canon Scanners and iOS & Android appliances.

Remarkable results

“Zvonko Stojević Museum Collection” - Orsula d.o.o. has been recording and managing “Zvonko Stojević Museum Collection”. The collection consists of approximately 50.000 objects. Over the years Orsula d.o.o. collaborated with over 40 young experts from various fields and countries.

The company helps collectors, museums, archives and libraries to digitize different kind of objects. The company is dedicated to educating its employees and to continuous upgrade of knowhow. It pays special attention to research, learning, innovation, promotion, protection and conservation of cultural heritage. It collaborates with experienced legal consultants in the field of Intellectual Property Rights and emphasizes the importance of the proper legal foundation within art world and protection of cultural heritage.


MEDIA PRODUCTION 100 GMBH (AUSTRIA) was founded in 2006 as a project company for production, manufacture and distribution of media works of any kind, in particular film production, 3D and XR. Until 2013 the company worked on the project of the site development “BELVEDERE COMPLEX – DUBROVNIK Luxury Leisure Complex Development”. During the project development, special attention was paid to the site location. The site faces the Old City of Dubrovnik which has been listed on UNESCO’s World Heritage list since 1979. Media Production 100 GmbH supported the site development in terms of application of the different types of technologies such as video, audio, filming and digitizing every step and iteration of the project development. Based on the work of Media Production 100 GmbH and two more Austrian companies, the City Council of Dubrovnik unanimously voted and adopted the Detailed Urban Plan (DPU) for the site location on 8 April 2013.

Since 2017 the company has been involved in the site development at the location of the Memorial Centre “Nikola Tesla” in Smiljan, the birthplace of Nikola Tesla, in Croatia. The company is involved in the site development in three fields:

Surveying

Terrain Surveying of the site using three methods of the scanning: Lidar, Terrestrial laser and Photogrammetry.

  • Scanning results in the form of point cloud and photographs.
  • Transformation of surveying results in the formats supplying architects, civil engineers and surveyors for the further use in software packages such as: AutoCAD, Revit, ArchiCAD, 3D Survey.
  • Transformation of surveying data in the formats for the purpose of 3D printing.
  • Transformation of surveying data for production and printing in 3D printers (F770 Stratasys, J55 Stratasys full colour 3D printer, H 350) by using: Blender, Meshroom, Agisoft Metashape, Meshmixer, Photoshop, GIMP, Unreal Engine, Cloud Compare.

As part of the project, the company is creating the Science – cultural Complex Nikola Tesla in virtual reality, to provide virtual reality experience in Science Museum “Nikola Tesla”, Art Museum “Z.S. Museum Collection”, Concert Hall “Ivo Pogorelić” and Parks of Smiljan.

Over the years the company has become highly specialised in digitalization, software development and web.


UNIVERSITY OF LJUBLJANA, (SLOVENIA) Faculty of Art, Department of Art History

The University of Ljubljana (UL) was founded in 1919 and currently integrates 23 faculties and three arts academies. Since its foundation, the UL has been the largest and highest quality Slovenian scientific and research organization – always recognized by the international scientific community.

UL is very active in international research and education programmes. The UL cooperated in 745 European projects, including 163 FP7 projects, which ranked UL in the first place in the EU-13 countries among the research organisations (source MIRRIS report). In 2022, University of Ljubljana was involved in 639 European projects and up to now it has been involved in 225 HORIZON 2020 and 88 HORIZON EUROPE projects (including 11 ERC grants, 2 ERA-CHAIR, 4 Twinning project, 2 Teaming projects and 46 Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions), 168 ERASMUS+ KA2, KA3, Jean Monnet and Sport projects and 114 projects of the European territorial cooperation programme.


NATIONAL GALLERY OF SLOVENIA was founded in 1918 and is the main art museum in Slovenia containing the largest visual arts collection from the late medieval period to including the twentieth century.


ZAGREB CITY MUSEUM was founded by the Brethren of the Croatian Dragon Society in 1907 and today is a contemporarily organised heritage institution.


CITY MUSEUM OF LJUBLJANA records, collects, documents, evaluates, preserves, interprets, researches, and presents the material and immaterial heritage from the area of Ljubljana and the city's wider surrounding area, dating from Prehistory to the present day.
