Field Work Update: Advancing Digitization at the National Gallery of Slovenia
We’re excited to share a recent milestone from the RCtoDC (From Raw Collection to Digital Collection) project. In June, our team conducted a successful round of field work at the National Gallery of Slovenia, making significant strides in the digitization of the country’s Baroque heritage.
Using state-of-the-art 3D scanning technology, we carefully documented several notable works, including three sculptures by Francesco Robba, his renowned fountain, and select pieces from the Baroque in Slovenia exhibition. Each scan was performed with precision and care to create high-resolution digital models that capture the intricate detail and historical significance of these artworks.
This work is a vital step in our mission to preserve Slovenia’s cultural heritage in digital form. By transforming physical objects into detailed digital records, we help ensure long-term preservation, broaden access for researchers and educators, and support ongoing conservation efforts.
We are especially grateful to the National Gallery of Slovenia for their collaboration and support throughout this process. Their expertise and commitment to heritage preservation have been essential to the success of this phase.
As the RCtoDC project continues to grow, we look forward to sharing further updates and insights from the field. Thank you for following our journey to digitize and protect cultural heritage — stay tuned for more.
