Francesco Robba’s Saint Sebastian Captured in High-Resolution 3D

06 Oct, 2025 | Return|

We’re excited to share a newly digitized work: Francesco Robba’s Saint Sebastian, now preserved in digital form.

The sculpture was scanned using the Artec Space Spider II and Canon EOS R5 Mark II photography, and processed in Artec Studio 19 to produce a high-fidelity digital replica.

How We Captured It

The digitization process combined structured light scanning with high-resolution photography to capture both the form and surface texture in exceptional detail. Using Artec Studio 19, we refined the scan to ensure precision and to faithfully reproduce the sculpture’s expressive anatomy and Baroque detail.

Originally part of the public monument of St John of Nepomuk (c. 1737) in Klagenfurt’s main square, the sculpture of Saint Sebastian is one of four surviving figures from the monument, which was removed in 1874. Today, it is preserved at the Klagenfurt Cathedral.
