Francesco Robba’s Saint Anthony of Padua Digitized in High-Resolution 3D
We’re excited to unveil our latest digital capture: a 3D scan of the sculpture of Saint Anthony of Padua, located in The Church of St. Francis Assisi in Ljubljana.
This remarkable work of devotional art has now been preserved in detailed digital form, allowing wider access for study, conservation, and appreciation.
How We Scanned It
The sculpture was digitized using a hybrid workflow that combined the strengths of multiple capture technologies. We employed the Artec Leo for rapid, high-precision acquisition of the overall geometry, the Artec Space Spider II for fine details and intricate surfaces, and the Canon EOS R5 Mark II for high-resolution photogrammetry.
All datasets were seamlessly aligned and processed in Artec Studio 19, ensuring excellent color fidelity, surface accuracy, and final mesh quality.
Our Workflow
A multi-device approach allowed us to capture both macro and micro features of the sculpture. The structured-light scanners provided reliable geometry even in challenging lighting conditions, while the DSLR photogrammetry added crisp texture information.
The resulting model was refined, optimized, and reconstructed in Artec Studio 19, yielding a faithful digital representation of the original artwork.
