New to Our Collection: Digitised Sculptures by Joseph Holzinger
We are excited to share our latest project: bringing two breathtaking 18th-century wooden sculptures from the National Gallery of Slovenia into the digital world. You can explore the interactive models directly below!
The Sculptures
Hand-carved between 1760 and 1770 by Baroque sculptor Joseph Holzinger (1735–1797), these digital models feature:
-
St. Paul: A beautifully detailed wooden figure that highlights Holzinger's incredible carving skills.
-
St. Zachary: A highly intricate figure wearing gold liturgical vestments, boots, a two-horned gold bishop’s hat (mitre), and a spectacular gold breastplate (rationale) set with twelve precious stones.
