25 Feb, 2026 | Return|

On February 12, 2026, the RCtoDC project successfully held its fifth webinar, Best Practices in 3D Scanning for Cultural Heritage, continuing the series dedicated to advancing knowledge and practice in digital cultural heritage.

Hosted on Google Workspace, this session explored research-grade and scalable approaches to 3D digitization, moving beyond basic captures to high-fidelity results. Participants gained insights into practical examples, detailed workflows, and expert strategies on how to maximize the impact of digital heritage assets. The discussion centered on how these models serve as vital tools for conservation, academic research, and public access.

The event brought together museum professionals, conservators, researchers, and educators interested in the intersection of history and technology. The session demonstrated how implementing standardized 3D scanning protocols ensures both the scientific accuracy and the long-term sustainability of digital heritage records.
