Francesco Robba’s St Roch Digitized in High-Resolution 3D
We’re excited to share a newly digitized work: Francesco Robba’s marble sculpture of St Roch, now preserved in detailed digital form.
The sculpture was scanned using the Artec Leo and Canon EOS R5 Mark II, with processing in Artec Studio Professional to produce a high-fidelity digital replica.
How We Captured It
The digitization process combined structured light scanning and high-resolution photography to capture the sculpture’s form and surface texture with exceptional detail. Using Artec Studio 19, we refined the scan to faithfully reproduce the sculpture’s Baroque features and craftsmanship.
Originally part of the public monument of St John of Nepomuk (c. 1737) in Klagenfurt’s main square, the monument was removed in 1874. Of the original seven sculptures, four survive today—St Sebastian, St Leopold, St Roch, and St John of Nepomuk—all currently housed at the Klagenfurt Cathedral.
